马来西亚华人文化协会简介   

 

(1) 成立背景

1970年代,马来西亚正处于政府雷厲風行,意圖實施同化政策措施的關健時刻,也正是馬來西亞華人文化活動受到種種限制的危機時刻;馬來西亞華社面對着馬來人至上,宗教至上,馬來文至上種種文化偏見的強大沖擊下,正備感焦慮與徬徨,为此,当时的馬華公會(简称马华)總會長李三春立即提出了〈五大計劃〉的具体行動方案,而馬來西亞華人文化協會就是這〈五大計劃〉之一。

 

馬來西亞華人文化協會(简称文协)于1974年9月14日成立筹委会,筹委会主席是黄昆福,秘书郑复兴,委员林建寿、饶文明、李奋勇、朱正华及麦汉锦。经过筹委会的努力奔走,于1976年11月19日獲得社團注冊局批准,于1977年3月5日,由发起人兼当时马华总会长李三春在槟城旧关仔角举行及有逾万人参加的文娱晚会上宣布成立,并在1977年4月19日选出第一届理事会。

 

(2) 成立目标:

(一)  进行研究,维护与发展华族文化,使其成为马来西亚国家文化的一个重要部分。

(二)  促进各民族的沟通与了解,作为华族文化与友族文化交融、沟通的重要桥梁,以利创造出公平和谐辉煌的马来西亚文化。

(三)  举办各种有意义的文化活动及出版与马来西亚文化有关的各类形式及性质之书籍。

 

(3) 成立演词

“今天晚上(1977年3月5日),到处是一片兴高采烈和兴奋的情绪,因此,在这时刻里我将不会发表长篇大论的演说。当然,我本人原想简单发言,这项晚会的主办人也有同样的想法,但是,如果我不趁此机会解释今晚庆祝的意义以及成立马来西亚华人文化协会的来龙去脉的话,我将是失责的。我们的社会是一个多元文化的社会,槟城就是一个典型的代表,因为这里可以看到不同种族社会的文化遗产放射光芒。从我们现在站立之处约一箭之遥,我们可以看见一些古代的文化遗迹。在椰脚街有一间甲必丹克林回教堂,这是大马回教徒社会的回教遗迹。

 

在同一条街的五十码远之处是佛教徒所崇拜的观音亭。在皇后街,离这里大约有半英里,你可以看见兴都教徒的石碑。在旧关仔角一带,即在华盖街,你可以看见一间基督教堂。

 

事实上,槟城是我们社会文化的缩影,不同文化相互影响之地,在我们人民生活中留下深刻的痕迹。今天晚上举行的中华文化文艺晚会象征我国人民所享有的文化自由,同时也表现我们的人民一代接一代的发展这种光辉灿烂的文化。

 

对我们来说,有时候我们觉得这种情形很普通,屡见不鲜,看来它们是理应如此的,我们也会以为今天存有事物明天也会存在,但让我提醒各位,这可能不会永远如此的,任何的自由如果我们不坚决维护的话,它们将会随着时间而消逝。我们必须警惕,以确保我们现在所享有的东西,我们的子子孙孙也能够在将来享有。

 

马华公会所成立的马来西亚华人文化协会的其中一项主要目标,尤其要维护与发展这些丰富的大马文化遗产,这个协会将是许多文化的催化剂,以便在时间,耐心和亲善下,我们将在这个熔炉中创造出一种公平的和引以为荣的大马文化。

 

这个协会也将成为一个研究中心,它将出版诗歌,文章、书本和杂志,以反映大马人民的活动,思想和生活方式,它也将举办歌唱,戏剧和各民族的文化活动,以便使各民族彼此之间能了解各自的文化传统。这个协会的门户是开放给所有马来西亚公民的,凡年龄在21岁以上皆欢迎入会,我们希望各阶层人民都能踊跃参加,以便对马来西亚文化的发展作出贡献。虽然这个协会是由马华公会发起,但它却不是马华公会的专有权。这个协会代表整个华人社会的集体努力,也只有在群策群力下它才能达致其目标,马华公会作为一个政党已尽其所能来创造与维护这种情况,使我们的文化能够自由和进步的发展。马华公会主动的创造这个环境及良好的骨架,但是,真正的发扬文化传统的工作是有赖我们整体社会人士齐心协力去推动方克有成。

 

我们时常遇到一种可悲的经验,即政治如果和文化混合的话,以致政界人士企图操纵我们文化发展的话,那么,其结果将会产生一种表现和投机取巧的文化,这无非是满足的那些政客个人的需要和利益而已。当然,它是无法庄严地反映人民的成就的,文化绝对不容许成为一粒足球让人踢来踢去,这是其中一项基本原因。

 

我们致力不在文化里介入政治因素,把它移出政治领域,使它不再成为政治论争的一项问题,让文化专家和群众去处理文化问题,而那些投机政客不应插手。我们呼吁大家接受这个基本规则,如此,我们社会的文化发展将能集体和权威地向前迈进。

 

各位朋友,今晚的文化文艺晚会即将开始,在结束我的谈话之前,让我向你们介绍这个文化协会筹委会的成员给你们认识,他们是主席:黄昆福、秘书:郑复兴,委员:林建寿、饶文明、李奋勇、朱正华及麦汉锦。现在,我以愉快的心情宣布马来西亚华人文化协会成立” 。

BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF MCCS

BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF THE MALAYSIAN CHINES CULTURAL SOCIETY

 

(1)BACKGROUND

The 1970s was a critical time in Malaysia which saw the Government intending to vigorously and resolutely implement assimilation policies. It was a crisis period where the cultural activities of the Chinese were being subjected to various restrictions and the formidable impact of cultural biases like Malay dominance, religious superiority, and the supremacy of the Malay language. As the Chinese community found itself overwhelmed with anxiety and lost, Lee San Choon, who was then the Malaysian Chinese Association(MCA for Short ) President, immediately proposed the “Five Major Projects” concrete action plan, one of which was the founding of the Malaysian Chinese Cultural Society.

 

The Preparatory Committee of the Malaysian Chinese Cultural Society (MCCS for short) was set up on 14 September, 1974. Through the efforts of chairman Wee Khoon Hock, secretary Zheng Fuxing, and members Lim Kean Siew, Ngau Boon Min, Li Fenyong, Choo Ching Hwa and Mak Hon Kam, approval was successfully btained from the Societies Registration Board on 19 November, 1976. On 5 March, 1977, during a cultural evening event at the Penang Esplanade attended by over ten thousand people, project initiator Lee San Choon announced the establishment of MCCS. Subsequently, the first council of the society was elected on 19 April, 1977.

 

(2)OBJECTIVE

(A) To study, preserve and develop Chinese culture, so that it becomes an important part of the Malaysian national culture.

(B) To foster inter-cultural communication and understanding by serving as an important bridge connecting Chinese culture and the culture of other communities, so as to facilitate the creation of a just, harmonious and glorious Malaysian culture.

(C) To organise a variety of meaningful cultural activities and to publish books of various forms and nature related to Malaysian culture.

 

(3)INAUGURAL SPEECH

“On this evening (5 March, 1977), as we rejoice in jubilance and excitement, I will not be giving a lengthy speech. Both the event organiser and I had intended for my comments to be brief. However, I would be remiss if I did not take this opportunity to explain the significance of tonight’s celebration and the long and short behind the establishment of the Malaysian Chinese Cultural Society. Ours is a multicultural society; one which is epitomised by Penang, where the cultural heritage of various ethnic communities truly flourish. Cultural vestiges of the past lie just a stone’s throw from where we all stand. The Kapitan Keling Mosque on Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling is a historical monument of Malaysia’s Muslim community. Fifty yards from there sits the Kuan Yin Temple venerated by Buddhist worshippers. On Lebuh Queen, about half a mile from here, you will find a stela of the Hindu faith. And along the Old Esplanade, on Lebuh Farquhar, you will see a Christian Church.

 

Indeed, Penang is a microcosm of our society; a place where different cultures interact to leave a profound trace on our lives. Tonight’s event not only symbolises the cultural freedom that the people of our country enjoy, but also the practice of perpetuating this splendid culture from generation to generation.

Sometimes we may feel that there is nothing extraordinary or uncommon about this; that it is merely how it should be, and that what exists today will exist tomorrow. But let me remind everybody, that it may not always be so. Any form of freedom will eventually be lost with time if we do not safe guard it firmly. We must be vigilant to ensure that the things which we enjoy today can also be savoured by our children and grandchildren in the future.

 

One of the objectives when MCA established MCCS is to preserve and develop the rich cultural heritage of Malaysia. MCCS will serve as a catalyst for various cultural initiatives, so that in time and with patience and goodwill, we will be able to create a Malaysian culture that is fair and that we can be proud of. MCCS will also act as a research centre; it will publish poetries, writings, books and magazines that reflect the activities, thoughts and lifestyle of the Malaysian people; it will organise singing, theatre and multi-ethnic activities, to foster understanding of each other’s cultural traditions.

 

The door of MCCS is open to all Malaysian citizens of 21 years or older, and we welcome the participation of people of all levels of society to contribute to the development of Malaysian culture. Although it is initiated by MCA, MCCS is not the exclusive property of MCA. Rather, it represents the collective effort of the Chinese community; the path to its goals achievable only through collective wisdom and concerted efforts. As a political party, MCA has fulfilled its role to create and maintain an environment that supports the free and progressive development of our culture. We have provided the initiation and framework. But the real job of carrying forward our cultural traditions can only be done well if the entire community works together. 

 

Every so often, however, we come across the situation when politics and culture intertwine in deplorable ways. When politicians attempt to mould the culture of a society to justify their needs and interest, the result is a showy, opportunistic outcome incapable of dignifying the achievements of the people. 

 

One of the core fundamentals of culture is that it is not a soccer ball we can kick around. With that in mind, we are committed to separating culture from politics, and to preventing it from becoming a subject of political debate, so that the experts and the public can deal with cultural issues without the interference of unscrupulous politicians. We urge all parties to accept this basic principle, so that the cultural development of our society will be able to move forward collectively and authoritatively.

Dear friends, as tonight’s cultural show is about to begin, allow me to conclude my remarks by introducing to you members of the MCCS Preparatory Committee. They are: Chairman Wee Khoon Hock, Secretary Zheng Fuxing, and members Lim Kean Siew, Ngau Boon Min, Li Fenyong, Choo Ching Hwa and Mak Hon Kam. And now, it gives me great pleasure to announce the launch of the Malaysian Chinese Cultural Society. Thank you.

(四)從圖案直線剖看,有3個「丰」字形;從圖案內圍看,有個方正「國」字形,意即3個民族豐富的文化乃構成國家文化。 

(五)橫直交錯之線條結構,乃象征文化必須多方交流才能建立豐富而鞏固之國家文化。

EMBLEM INTERPRETATION

A.The strong horizontal and vertical strokes forming the “華” character represent the strength and solidity of Chinese culture.

B.The nine horizontal strokes represent the nine teams within MCCS cooperating closely to energetically advocate Malaysian Chinese culture.

C.The three vertical strokes represent the three major ethnic groups of our country, advancing in parallel and united as one.

D.Embedded within the “華” character are three “丰” (“abundant”) glyph types as well as a “国” (“state”) glyph type, signifying that the national culture is constituted of the rich cultures of the three ethnic groups.

E.The composition created by the interlocking horizontal and vertical lines symbolises that the cultures must share multiple interactions before a rich and strong national culture can emerge.

全国青年才艺创作总决赛暨颁奖礼

 

由本会主办、青年体育部主催的全国青年才艺创作比赛,总决赛暨颁奖礼在吉隆坡凤鸣宫酒店隆重举行,比赛场地由林金华赞助。当晚邀请青年及体育部副部长翁诗杰主持颁奖。本会邀请到国内外七位重量级的表演艺术家担任评审,同时也特别邀请到中国山东省歌舞剧院的一级演员呈献精彩的歌舞及乐器演奏。当晚大家不仅可以观赏到国内外优秀的青年卓越的表演艺术,同时也能欣赏到来自中国杰出表演艺术家们的最精彩演出,绝对是一场集视听娱乐美感于一体的最高享受。

 

比赛项目分为音乐、舞蹈、短剧及相声,经初赛及复赛后,进入总决赛的10支优胜队伍呈献出精彩的演出,寰宇电视台astro 在现场录制并于新年元旦播出。 本会亦邀请来自中国山东省文化交流艺术团前来作友谊演出,呈献压轴节目。整个节目让观众沉浸在多重转折的心情中,从激撩人心的开场舞蹈到青年及体育部副部长翁诗杰及总会长戴小华别开生面的开幕方式,还有姚新光及培乐两位司仪配合无间的主持,一气呵成,将观众带入表演者的世界中,心潮随之起伏波动。 初赛评审团为:张材光、张雅诰、苏华宝、陈温发、曾剑青、黄情茂、徐淑芳、潘德南、郑清强、孙春美、黄伟民、黄福泉、伍秀芳及马金泉。复赛评审团为:郑清强、周桂新、陈容、张雅诰、孙春美、苏华宝及陈温发。 总决赛评审团为:贾作光(中)、郭启宏(中)、梦鸽(中)、欧建平(中)、郑清强(马)、陈容(马) 及陈清水(马)。

各州分会概况

文化的传承和发展须靠大家不断的参与和推动,并将不合时宜的传统文化大胆卸下,将优良的传统文化有计划地加以研究和推广,使之发扬光大,使它成为马来西亚国家文化的一个重要部分,以达致与我国各民族文化互相交融,和谐共处。

 
本会自成立以来,历届领导层对协会的发展都有一份要求和期许,在不断实现理想的过程中,我们清楚知道,马来西亚华族文化的发展工作,不是单靠母会的力量即可完成,而是必须依赖各不同州属的文化艺术工作者,分党派摒弃成见,共同发挥群体力量,携手合作,全心全意为文化事业奉献。
 
目前本会设有11个州分会,包括:   森美兰、吉兰丹、柔佛、彭亨、霹雳、槟城、雪兰莪、马六甲、登嘉楼、吉打、玻璃市及联邦直辖区。
The Activities of the various State MCCS
Since  the  formation  of  the  Malaysian  Chinese  Cultural  Society  (MCCS),  the  leaderships  havehigh expectations as they strived to achieve the goals and objectives they have set for the cultural organization. They were fully aware that the efforts and strength of the parent body alone were insufficient to make MCCS a success. They need the support and co-operation of the state MCCS to bring about development and progress to the MCCS.
 
They are currently 11 state MCCS set up in the 11 state of peninsular Malaysia. There include the Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Johore, Pahang, Perak, Penang, Selangor, Melaka, Terengganu, Kedah,Perlis branch and Wilayah Persekutuan.
